1. What is CA Foundation?

Chartered Accountancy is one of the most prestigious professions in the world. The CA Foundation exam is the first level of the Chartered Accountancy course in India, conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).

2. Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have appeared for the Senior Secondary (10+2) examination.
  • Must register with ICAI Board of Studies at least 4 months before the exam.
  • There is no minimum percentage requirement in 10+2 to appear for Foundation.

3. Exam Pattern

The exam consists of four papers, each of 100 marks. The total duration is 3 hours for subjective papers and 2 hours for objective papers.

4. Passing Criteria

To clear the CA Foundation, a candidate must secure:

  • Minimum 40% marks in each individual paper.
  • Minimum 50% marks in aggregate of all four papers (i.e., 200 out of 400).
