What is CLAT?

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralized national level entrance test for admissions to 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India.

Unlike traditional memorization-based exams, CLAT is completely comprehension-based. It tests your reading stamina, critical thinking, and ability to process information quickly under severe time pressure.

Comprehension Heavy: Entirely based on reading passages across all sections.
No Legal Background Needed: Tests aptitude for law, not prior legal knowledge.
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every incorrect attempt.

Is CLAT changing its pattern again?

Recently, CLAT reduced the total number of questions from 150 to 120, while retaining the 120-minute duration. The overall comprehension-heavy nature of the exam remains the same.

Does NLU Delhi accept CLAT scores?

No. NLU Delhi conducts its own separate entrance examination known as AILET (All India Law Entrance Test). However, our CLAT 1-Year Comprehensive program prepares you thoroughly for AILET as well.

Can Science/Commerce students apply?

Absolutely. CLAT is highly interdisciplinary, and students from all streams—Science, Commerce, and Humanities—regularly crack the exam. There is no preference for Humanities students.
